The Role

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
• Collaborate with procurement, inventory, and installation teams to ensure accurate cost inputs
• Track project budgets, expenditures, and prepare cost reports
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports to provide insights into financial performance.
• Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budgeted figures and provide explanations for discrepancies.
• Assist in the development of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
• Lead and prepare budgeting and forecasting.
• Financial analysis and reporting
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax laws.
• Manage Compliance and manage auditing.
• Act as the primary point of contact for financial matters with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, vendors, and regulatory authorities
• Any other duties assigned to you by management.

Ideal Profile

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, including both financial and management accounting. Ideally within the Environment / Renewable Energy / Sustainable Industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong team player who can manage multiple stakeholders and maintain confidentiality at all times..
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Billing - Prepare and process invoices for clients, ensuring accuracy and timely payment. 
• Data Verification - Verify the accuracy of financial data, such as purchase orders, sales invoices and job sheets.  
• Financial Recordkeeping - Maintain detailed financial records, including costing, job orders, and other relevant information.  
• Cost Allocation - Accurately allocate costs to specific jobs, projects, or departments, ensuring compliance with company procedures. 
• Cost Analysis - Assist with cost analysis, including identifying cost drivers, tracking expenses, and preparing cost reports.  
• Communication - Communicate with other departments (e.g., accounting, operations) to gather information and resolve discrepancies.  
• Supplier Management - Manage relationships with suppliers, resolve any invoice-related issues, and maintain records of payments.  
• Data Entry - Maintain and update databases and spreadsheets with financial data.  
• Reporting – Prepare reports on cost trends, variances, and other key financial metrics. 
• Stock Checks - Conduct regular physical inventory counts to verify that recorded stock levels match actual inventory.  
• Accurate Record Keeping - Maintain detailed and accurate records of all stock movements, including receipts, shipments, and internal transfers. 
• Support - Provide general support to the finance team. 

Ideal Profile

Qualification & Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
• Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
• Ability to analyze complex reports
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as Xero
• Personal Skills - Verbal and written communication, results oriented, negotiation/persuasiveness, drive and energy, personal impact, computer literacy.
• Interpersonal Skills - Teamwork focus, flexibility and ability to work with change, tolerance to stress.
• Business Awareness Skills -Cross functional awareness, competitor awareness and knowledge, concern for excellence, industry perspective.
• Operational Skills - Sales with customer service orientation, meeting individual targets
• IT Skills - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with driving sales through a Customer Relationship Management Tool e.g. Salesforce
• Ability to multitask.
• Adaptability, Professionalism and teamwork
